Toolbox Report covers the software that keeps local service businesses running: field service management, estimating, scheduling, invoicing, dispatch. If a plumber, HVAC tech, or electrician might buy it, it belongs here.
Search for software aimed at the trades and the results read like nobody involved has ever sent an invoice from a truck. Most review sites are written for tech people picking tools for other tech people. This site answers the questions an owner actually has: what does it cost, what does it do, and is it worth the money.
Prices come off the vendors' own pricing pages, checked by hand, and every page shows the date it was last verified. Scores weigh three things: whether the pricing is published, whether the features fit the trade, and how painful it is to actually buy the product. A mandatory demo and a 12-month contract count against it. So does hiding the price behind a sales call.
Some vendors pay us a referral fee when a reader signs up through our links. That has no effect on scores or placement; a few of our picks have no affiliate program at all. The disclosure page spells out how it works.
I'm Nick. I write software for a living, and I built this site and the systems that keep its pricing data current. The picks and verdicts are my opinions, updated when vendors change their plans or their pricing. If something looks wrong or stale, the contact page is the fastest way to reach me.
